 Reducing
Straight Coupler 
Reducing Straight couplers are
fittings specifically designed and manufactured under fully integrated
setup for Plumbing and Heating systems. They are basically used with:
- Copper pipe to BS EN 1057
- Speedfit Barrier Pipe to BS7291
They have found applications in
the following :
- Mains fed and indirect cold water systems
- Vented and unvented hot water systems
- Vented and sealed central heating systems
Some specifications to be kept
in mind regarding their usage are as follows :
Flux : It is not advisable to use any kind of fluxes
with these fittings. But if their usage in such an environment is
inevitable, absolute caution should be taken to conform that there is
not contact between them.
Paints and chemicals : Usage of only water or oil based
paints is permissible. Contact with cellulose base compounds, paint
thinners, acid based descalents or aggressive cleaning products is
strictly prohibited.
Exposure to Sunlight : Straight couplers should be
protected from direct exposure to sunlight through lagging and painting.
