 Elbow
Fittings
These fittings are basically
elbows (a fitting device that is used to hange the direction of the flow
and at various angles, like 45 degree, 90 degree or other) that are
manufactured using the principle of flared fittings. Flared elbow
fittings are available with NPT, SAE straight thread, British and metric
port connections. Some fittings can also be used as hose adapters.
A carefully engineered elbow flared fitting provides enhanced
protection against leakage due to normal system vibration or due to
irregularities in the flared tubing. Also, as the fitting nose and
flared tubing are drawn together, they are supported by the fitting
sleeve, which distributes the compressing load caused by the nut as it
is threaded onto the fitting body during assembly.
Most of the flared tube fittings are interchangeable with equivalent
styles (unions, bulkheads, tees, etc). All 37 degree fitting styles are
also available with the optional tube end design.
Depending on the nature of application, materials that are popularly
used in manufacturing 37 degree flared elbow fittings are brass, steel,
stainless steel etc.
Some of the industries wherein these fittings are used are:
- Process Control
- Instrumentation
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic
- Chemicals & Petrochemicals
- Fertilizers
- Offshore
- Power Plants
- Automobile
- Other Process Industries
